Happy Birthday With Any Name

Text Fireworks Blog

To make a happy birthday card with someone's name, type the name into the maker on this site, choose the colours, and send the link. The letters launch into a night sky and explode one at a time with real firework sound. It works with any name in any of sixteen alphabets, and there is no watermark or sign-up.

Search for "happy birthday" plus almost any name and you get the same three things: a stock image with the name typed on it, a novelty song, and a page of adverts.

None of them are actually personalised. They are templates with a name dropped in. This page does the opposite — you type the name and the animation is built around it, letter by letter.

Make one with any name

Open the free fireworks video maker, type the name, and pick how it looks:

  1. Type the message. Put "Happy Birthday" on the first line and the name on the second — short lines make bigger, brighter letters
  2. Pick the colours. Gold reads elegant, rainbow reads party, candy pastel suits children
  3. Pick the letter style. Marquee bulbs copy the light-up letters you see at real venues
  4. Send or download. Send it as a link that plays instantly, or download the video or GIF

There is no watermark and no account, at any resolution up to 4K.

Ready-made examples

Tap any of these to see exactly what it looks like, then make your own with a different name.

Change the name in the box and it rebuilds instantly.

Names in other alphabets

Most name generators break the moment a name is not written in the Latin alphabet. Accents get stripped, tone marks disappear, and Arabic or Japanese comes out as boxes.

This one renders sixteen writing systems correctly, including Vietnamese tone marks, Hindi, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Arabic and Cyrillic. A name spelled properly matters more than any colour choice.

See happy birthday in every language for the greeting itself in each one.

Long names, short names and two names

The character counter under the text box shows how long the animation will run as you type.

What to write with the name

A name on its own is enough for a card. If you want words to go with it, the wishes collections are sorted by who you are writing to:

Common questions

Can I put any name in it? Yes. There is no list of supported names — you type whatever you want, including nicknames, two names, or a name in another alphabet.

Is there a limit on how many I make? No. Everything renders in your browser, so there is nothing to meter.

Does it work with accents and non-Latin scripts? Yes. Vietnamese tone marks, Hindi, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Arabic and Cyrillic all render correctly.

How do I send it without them downloading anything? Use the share link. The card is encoded in the link itself and plays the moment they open it, on any phone.

Can I print it? Screenshot the frame where the name is fully lit and print that. For a physical card, the marquee bulb style prints best because it has the strongest contrast.
